THE GREATEST HOME SHOW IS HERE!
After months of preparations, The Greatest Home Show is officially here! The series takes the stage to your home and encourages you to be yourself, with graphics that motivate fun and freedom: dance and be silly, sing top hits in the shower, pop new moves while you cook! No matter where you are or who you’re with, you can always have fun!
Born out of our founder Cynthia Mak’s love for drawing, this series aimed to spread joy to the world. Inspired by retro photos of couples dancing and enjoying the moment, as well as Tik Tok clips of dancing in action, Mak developed the idea of delights through bodily movements.
INSPIRATION
“There are so many types of dancing out there but the types that stuck with me are the silly ones, with big gestures, the more home freestyle moves and comes with a big smile. The one that we probably are less likely to do in public, but you secretly love it when you are at home,” said Cynthia.
Mak also took British dancer Margret Morris’s choreography and movements, and Audrey Hepburn’s quirky modern dance performance in the classic movie Funny Face for a new spin for our 2021 context. Morris’s dance informs symmetrical and repetitions to the sharp visual designs, while Hepburn’s high kicks and prancing actions were incorporated into the lively prints.

FAVOURITE ARTWORKS
The Greatest Home Show also introduces a new signature motif for CYNTHIA & XIAO - the rabbit ears. The rabbit ears symbolise the wearing of your inner self, to be in a mental space that is fully care-free. It is woven into the series of prints where the character may be in a ballerina skirt yet with home slippers, dancing around the house with ad-hoc props such as pans, lamps, wine bottles and even broccolis! Each scene blends the daily routines with creative ways to imagine a safe stage at home for self-expression.
