Care Guide

Quality and comfort are important to us. We have chosen to work with mainly Merino wool for its exceptional properties and softness.

Merino wool is a natural fibre grown by Merino sheep and for years, it has protected them from harsh temperatures of 5 - 95 degrees. In other words, the beauty of Merino wool is its suitability to be used to make garments for all seasons! The natural fibre is an ultimate insulator that provides you with warmth in cold temperatures and regulates heat in hot temperatures. The moisture-wicking benefit of the fabric pulls moisture away from your skin to offer breathability and comfort by keeping you dry. Additionally, Merino wool’s ability to absorb moisture prevents the build-up of bacteria from sweat that causes odour.

Merino wool breaks the notion that wool is itchy with its fine fibres of approximately half the diameter of a human hair per fibre. The fibres of Merino wool are so fine that it would bend and flow along with your body’s natural movement, making it much softer and luxurious to wear than any other wool types. The soft fibres are less likely to irritate the skin, making it an ideal choice even for children.

At Cynthia&Xiao, we aim to create fun pieces that would last for seasons. This can be made possible by caring for your garments the right way to prolong their lifetime.

(1) We recommend to hand wash your knitwear and leave them to air dry by laying the garment flat.

(2) Merino wool can be machine washed. However, it is important to wash them at low temperatures on a gentle machine cycle.

(3) To prevent piling, it is recommended to turn the garment inside out and place them into a mesh laundry bag before it enters the washing machine.

(4) We advise against tumble drying, dry cleaning, bleaching and the usage of fabric softeners.
